1: Shot on the Isle of Harris during golden hour, this short 4K wildlife film was my first outing with the Canon R5 and 100–500mm lens - a Netflix-compliant beast with animal eye tracking (great for fast movers… less so for slow, stealthy herons!).
From focus frustrations to post-production meltdowns (hello, 76GB files!), this clip was forged through trial, error, and a whole lot of learning.
Filmed on a sea eagle trail I never reached, crafted during a creative retreat, and edited through Avid crashes and all sorts of technical challenges - it’s a reminder that even slow herons demand fast thinking.
Days in the making. Seconds on screen. Hope you enjoy it — and spot what fish it caught!
